The guitar store after school lets out is always entertaining. Every guitar player there shoots their shot to impress whoever is around them. You’ll hear some really good guitar players and you’ll hear some bad guitar player then you’ll hear new guitar players!
Me when I go, I play the exact same thing you see me play on the Internet. Why? I know exactly what it is to sound like. I know exactly what I want tone! If I’m playing a guitar I know exactly how I want that guitar to feel when I play them.
Like yesterday, I played a 1980s Charvel single pick up single, knob guitar. I want to call it a gunslinger, but I don’t think that was right. I played the exact same thing I always play and I couldn’t get past the knob the volume knob! then I played a 1980s-ish court explorer triple pick up. Looked a lot like the old guitar player of Def Leppard’s! AnyWho, I played that I played the exact same thing. I got the tone I wanted. I got the sound on it, but I couldn’t keep the pick from constantly scraping the middle pick up!
So when I’m doing some serious guitar shopping, I don’t give a fuck about anybody around me. There’s nobody I want to impress. I know how to play. I know how to play well, I don’t give a fuck what you think and I’m gonna play what works for me…… Comprende’? Puto!
